The William Lee Centre is the heartbeat of the Redhill Academy Trust, Nottingham. The academy is an ever-improving Academy with an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating that is fast becoming a widely recognised and respected MAT
The trust appointed R1 construction to help design some much-needed administration and office space on the site. It was apparent having worked with the trust facilities manager Marcus previously on another scheme that the courtyard would offer the best solution in terms of space and client budget.
R1 construction sat down with the client to discuss what requirement they would like in order to promote a comfortable working environment, and on the back of these discussions we presented the client with a full detailed specification and sound advice to be considered when submitting the planning application.
R1 construction was awarded the contract in late September and acted as Principal contractor for the work carrying out all design works, site management and health and safety advisor. The works were completed in October 2019, with a programme of 8 weeks, including all design work and manufacturing of steelwork and curtain walling
The works consisted of a new build steel framed extension to the courtyard which provided the ever-growing MAT with a modern and vibrant reception area, admin offices and meeting rooms that have benefited the client greatly. The refurbishment works extended to the remodelling of the existing kitchen, reception and redundant classroom spaces that was transformed into an appealing boardroom for the trust with a hot desk area, newly styled kitchen and kitchenette areas.
