R1 Construction sponsors a lot of grassroots sports clubs in the county, from boxing to junior football, as well as working with a lot of local charities...
Age UK - R1 Christmas Appeal
Partnering with Age UK, Shropshire Telford and Wrekin we launched our R1 Christmas parcel appeal, providing gifts to local older people.
We created around 350 gift bags for Age UK Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin day centres which have now all been distributed.
Also raising over £4,000 via our JustGiving page.

Wrekin Rowers
R1 was one of the sponsors supporting the Wrekin Rowers with their ambitious plans to sail the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge a row of 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean all in aid for Severn Hospice.
Dragon Boat Race, Shrewsbury
Sadly, Gary Richards of Wrekin Rowers, passed away shortly after completing the Atlantic Challenge.
Gary’s family and friends entered the Severn Hospice Dragon Boat Race in his memory. R1 supported ‘Garys Miss behaviours’ and they went on to win best dressed team.

Football
R1 support many grassroots football teams with proving kits, training jackets, equipment and donations in order to ensure that the teams can continue to function. Partners Ben & Andrew are both football coaches to some of the listed clubs below.

Abby Francis, a much-loved local girl and friend to R1 passed away in September 2019.

Peaks for Piper
R1 donated towards the challenge will included climbing 5 of Britain’s highest peaks across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland & Southern Ireland…in 48 hours!
Oswestry Boxing Club
R1 continues to support both amateur boxing clubs with donations which has provided fantastic competitive events throughout the calendar year whilst providing a pathway for local boxers within Shropshire to compete on the amateur circuit
