October 2024 - March 2026
An exciting period at R1 Construction. Over the past six months, we’ve celebrated the successful completion of major projects including the Barking & Dagenham College EV Training Centre, Dawley High Street and our Ironbridge bungalow development, while also securing a number of new opportunities across the education, residential and care sectors. Away from site, we’ve continued supporting the next generation through careers events, welcomed new additions to the team, celebrated team successes through our company awards and even brought the business together for our own edition of The Traitors. Meanwhile, strong progress continues across projects including Wigston College, Tile Cross Academy and our care sector developments in Wales, ensuring another busy and rewarding chapter for the team.
April - September 2025
It’s been another exciting period at R1 Construction! We’re delighted to welcome our new Commercial Director, Josh Coleman, to the team. The past few months have also seen plenty of highlights: from enjoying coffee, cake and connection during our wellbeing catch-up, to a brilliant afternoon spent at Longnor CofE Primary School. We proudly celebrated Abi Bebb’s 10-year anniversary with R1 and revisited Webb Crescent with Telford College. Progress continues on Dawley High Street, and we’re thrilled to announce that R1 has been awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award. Meanwhile, works are well underway at The Riverside in Ironbridge, marking another busy and rewarding chapter for the team.
October 2024 - March 2025
We successfully completed several key projects, including Wigston, Oakthorpe Primary, Ptarmigan House, and Djanogly, and handed over the first-floor plots at Webb Crescent. We also secured approval for development plans at Wigston College. In partnership with Telford College, we launched a work experience scheme, welcoming 18 students to site — and we proudly marked National Apprenticeship Week with Ben Mulholland. Together, we raised an incredible £21,000 for Moving Mountains for Riley, and celebrated R1’s 10-year anniversary, along with Seb’s 10-year work anniversary! We also visited a number of live projects to check in on progress, including Castle Donington, Barking & Dagenham College, and Castle Donington College.
June - September 2024
From June to September, we celebrated several key moments, starting with the successful completion of the SYA project and providing updates on ongoing and finished projects, including Webb Crescent. We also focused on health and safety with Rose and enjoyed a memorable evening celebrating R1's big win. A special feature was a Q&A session with our T-Level student, Tom Jones, and we congratulated our very own, Tom Swancott on his achievements.
