R1 Construction is thrilled to announce the successful completion and official handover of the Wellbeing Garden at Clive Barracks to the welfare team.
This project, undertaken by R1 Construction, was completed just in time for the Royal Irish Regiment's St. Patrick's Day parade, marking a significant milestone for the community.
The Wellbeing Garden, designed as a tranquil space for military personnel to relax and reflect, was revitalised by R1 Construction after a previous contractor left it in less than ideal condition. Through the combined efforts of R1 Construction, staff, soldiers, and numerous volunteers, the garden was transformed into a beautiful and serene environment that exceeded all expectations.
Abi Bebb, R1 Construction’s Business Operations Manager, expressed her immense pride in the finished garden. She stated, "We are immensely proud of what we have achieved in such a short period. This project has far exceeded our expectations, and it would not have been possible without the extreme amount of hard work and dedication from the volunteers and community members who contributed."
The community’s support was crucial in bringing this project to fruition. R1 Construction successfully rallied financial donations, supplies, and discounts from other companies, ensuring the garden's completion by the target date.
In addition to the handover ceremony, R1 Construction's leadership had the honour of meeting Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, during a VIP visit just before the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Despite challenging weather conditions, the Duchess toured the garden and engaged in a discussion about the project and its promising impact on the military community.
The Wellbeing Garden now stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration and the dedication of those involved in providing a space of peace and reflection for the service men and women at Clive Barracks. R1 Construction will soon be sharing photos of the completed garden, capturing the beauty and serenity of this vital space.
