Overview
R1 Construction completed a new GP Practice within Bridgnorth's Halo Severn Leisure Centre, opening in April 2024. The project included expanded treatment rooms, soundproofing, and accessibility improvements. Despite the challenges of a live-working environment, the facility was delivered on time, enhancing healthcare services for around 5,000 local residents.
Successfully completed and handed to the client in mid-April, the brand-new GP Practice, situated within Halo Severn Leisure Centre in Bridgnorth, officially opened its doors in April 2024.
The initial tender design incorporated the existing floor, but it soon became evident that enhancements were necessary, including the installation of a disabled toilet and the expansion of space within the treatment rooms. The construction of the walls and ceilings were designed and built to minimise sound between rooms. All services, air conditioning, and air recovery units have been positioned on a serviceable access floor above the surgery area.
R1 Construction diligently adhered to a three-month construction timeline, spanning from the initial site setup to the final handover. The relocation of the Halo Leisure Centre Library was imperative for our project’s commencement. Our team facilitated the relocation process, installing new flooring and redecorating all walls.
At R1 Construction, we recognise the proactive approach to quality control as integral to the success of every contract. Therefore, before starting on-site, we ensure our construction team undergoes comprehensive training tailored to the project’s requirements.
Prior to commencing work on-site, our team meticulously reviews the design and cost aspects, promptly addressing any encountered queries or challenges.
In conclusion, we are highly satisfied with the final outcome and commend our team for their efficiency amidst the challenges of a live-working environment. The success of this project led to a brand new facility providing enhanced accessibility and an expanded range of services to the Highley community and surrounding villages, catering to approximately 5,000 residents.
